If you pass by the Little Theatre this week and hear a lot of shouting, running around, and frantic costume changes—don’t worry, it’s just us finally getting The 39 Steps ready for opening night this Friday.
Honestly, rehearsals have been a bit of a madhouse. Trying to cram a massive 1930s spy epic into our theatre with only four actors is exactly as chaotic as it sounds. We’ve got people playing about thirty different characters each, switching hats (literally) every few seconds, and trying not to trip over the props.
Why should you come and see it?
It’s basically a massive “love letter” to the theatre. We’re doing high-speed train chases with just a couple of chairs and plane crashes with… well, you’ll have to see it to believe it. It’s silly, it’s fast, and it’s a brilliant laugh. If you’ve had a long week, this is the perfect way to switch your brain off and just enjoy the mayhem.
The box office is open on 01704 530521, or you can just book online. Don’t forget we have a matinee on Saturday 11th April at 2.30pm, followed by a Q&A session in the bar with the Director, Cast & Crew.
Come down and support your local theatre—and watch us try to survive 130 character changes without losing any moustaches. See you there!
