The stage is set, the lights are dimmed, but there is work behind the scenes that we can no longer ignore.

For decades, the Little Theatre on Hoghton Street has been the beating heart of Southport’s creative community. It is a place where friendships are forged, talents are discovered, and thousands of you have shared the magic of live performance.

But today, our historic home needs your help.

The Challenge

After years of patching and mending, our building is showing its age. Leaks and other signs of wear are putting our auditorium, our technical equipment, and our cherished archives at risk. To ensure the curtain doesn’t come down for good, we must invest in the conservation and preservation of the Little Theatre.

This is the largest and most critical fundraising appeal in our history. We are working to raise £200,000 to conserve and preserve the Little Theatre for the next generation, with the roof among our most pressing priorities.

Why Your Support Matters

The Little Theatre is more than just a building; it is a vital community asset run by volunteers who dedicate thousands of hours every year to the arts.

By donating to the Raise the Roof Appeal, you are supporting the conservation and preservation of the Little Theatre. You are:

• Protecting our Heritage: Preserving a landmark building in the heart of Southport.
• Securing the Future: Ensuring our youth groups and local performers have a safe, dry place to rehearse and perform.
• Safeguarding the Experience: Making sure that your next visit to the theatre is comfortable, welcoming, and focused entirely on the show.

Join the “Raise the Roof” Community

We’ve spent decades “raising the roof” with your applause and laughter. Now, we’re asking you to help us look after the theatre that makes it possible, so it can keep echoing with applause for generations to come.
