Christmas is always a wonderful time of the year β and Southport Dramatic Club is auditioning for our Panto production of Dick Whittington!
This beloved pantomime tale of ambition, adventure, and a very clever cat is set to be one of our most spectacular productions yet β and we want you to be part of it. Whether you’re an experienced performer with leading-role ambitions or a confident ensemble member who loves the energy of a big production, if you’ve got the talent and dedication, we want to hear from you.
We’re seeking a strong, committed, and talented cast β one that can deliver the professional, high-energy pantomime that our audiences have come to love. From leading principals to skilled singers and dancers, every role in this production matters, and we’re looking for people ready to give it everything.

We have numerous adult principal roles available alongside strong ensemble opportunities. This is a full-scale pantomime production with substantial, rewarding parts on offer β not just for singers and dancers, but for character actors and comedic performers too.

Roles Available
Dick Whittington is a pantomime rich with character β from heroic leads and comic villains to magical fairy godmothers and scene-stealing ensemble numbers. Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:
Principal Roles
Numerous substantial adult leading and supporting roles are available, including our hero, our Dame, principal boy, villain, and more. These are meaty, rewarding parts for committed performers who want to be at the heart of the show.
Singers & Dancers
We’re particularly keen to hear from confident vocalists and energetic movers who can bring the big musical numbers to life. Strong singers and dancers are essential to giving this production the professional polish we pride ourselves on.
Comic & Character Performers
Pantomime lives and dies by its comedy and character work. If you have a flair for physical comedy, comic timing, or larger-than-life characterisation, there is absolutely a place for you in this cast.
Ensemble Performers
The ensemble is the beating heart of any great pantomime. We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable performers who can commit fully to rehearsals and help create the spectacle and energy that makes panto so special.
Above all, we’re looking for people with passion, professionalism, and the panto spirit β whatever your strength, there may well be a role with your name on it.
Key Dates
There are two sessions to be aware of. We strongly encourage all prospective cast members to attend the Talk-Up Session first, where you’ll get a full overview of the production, meet the creative team, and have any questions answered before auditions take place the following week.

Auditions

1:00pm β 4:00pm
Come ready to perform and show us what you’ve got. Full details on what to prepare will be shared at the Talk-Up Session the week before.
