The Gondoliers – Crosby Gilbert & Sullivan

The Little Theatre Southport is delighted to welcome back the renowned Crosby G&S Society for their latest production, Gilbert and Sullivan’s sunniest and most joyous operetta, The Gondoliers.

From Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th March 2026, they’ll be transporting you to a vibrant, sun-drenched Venice. The story follows two charming gondolier brothers, Marco and Giuseppe, who are told that one of them is the long-lost King of Barataria. A royal mix-up leads to them ruling jointly, all while dealing with their brand new Venetian brides and the arrival of a Spanish noble family claiming their daughter is the rightful queen.

With its sparkling musical score and witty libretto, The Gondoliers is a feast for the senses, featuring some of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most beloved numbers, including the famous “Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes” and the rousing “Dance a Cachucha.”
