In April 2003, Charles Ingram, his wife Diana, and an accomplice were convicted of conspiring to cheat their way to the top prize on ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’. This sharp and satirical play re-examines the infamous “Coughing Major” scandal, questioning whether the evidence was as clear-cut as the headlines suggested.
The production takes the audience from the high-pressure lights of the studio floor to the quiet intensity of the courtroom. It’s a gripping exploration of our obsession with trivia, the mechanics of a heist, and the blurry line between entertainment and justice in the court of public opinion.
