The Great British Bake Off Musical – Southport Spotlights

If you’re a fan of the tent, the tiers, and the dreaded soggy bottom, you’ll definitely want to clear your diary for this one.

Southport Spotlights are taking over the Little Theatre from 1st–4th July to bring us The Great British Bake Off Musical. It’s honestly a brilliant match—Spotlights always bring so much energy to the stage, and this show is basically a massive, feel-good hug in musical form.

The story follows eight amateur bakers (that classic mix of eccentric characters we’re used to seeing every Tuesday on Channel 4) as they navigate kitchen disasters, secret ingredients, and the stress of the judges’ critiques. You can expect plenty of laughs, a surprisingly moving storyline, and songs that are far catchier than you’d expect a song about cake to be.

If you’ve seen Spotlights perform before, you know they don’t do things by halves, so expect a “Star Baker” level production. It’s a great night out if you’re looking for something light, funny, and produced right here in town.
