Learn More About SDC Youth Theatre

Youth Theatre workshops

Beyond our main productions, we occasionally host high-energy youth theatre workshops designed to sharpen performance skills and explore the many facets of stagecraft in a relaxed, pressure-free environment. These sessions are the perfect “taster” for anyone curious about joining our community, offering a mix of improvisation, physical theatre, and technical insights led by experienced mentors. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a total newcomer looking to build confidence, our workshops provide a brilliant space to get creative, meet the current company, and see if our theatre family is the right fit for you.

Youth Theatre and The Pantomime

The SDC pantomime provides an opportunity for Youth Theatre members to work alongside experienced musicians, directors and choreographers.

This year’s panto – Dick Whittington – will be cast during September so there will be opportunities for you to be part of this production. Please contact us for more information and how to apply.

Youth Theatre Spring Productions

Each spring we usually do a non-musical play to give acting opportunities to members who prefer not to sing and dance. Previous shows have included, Blood Brothers, Skellig, Frankenstein, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase and most recently DNA and It Snows.

Our next play is ‘Our Day Out’ by Willy Russell, which opens on 18th-21st March 2026
