After the huge success of the SDC Youth Theatre’s summer musical extravaganza The Addams Family last year, directing duo Deborah Bloom and Jonathon Plunkett return to direct this year’s summer production of Sweeney Todd.
Sondheim’s iconic musical tells the story of the demon barber, who in order to seek revenge on those who had him deported to Australia on a trumped up change, uses his tonsorial skills to murder unsuspecting clients, whilst his accomplice Mrs Lovett bakes them into meat pies, quickly turning her failing pie shop into a thriving business.
